It’s 6am and the alarm is buzzing.  Snooze is ever too familiar as the morning seals the eyes shut from the hours of the day awaiting.  Dread starts to seep in as the tasks and events to come begin to unfold as you lie in bed preparing mentally for whats to come.  The dreams from the evening sleep have already been forgotten and replaced with a slowly building stress of the life that has been built from all the hard work and dedication towards “living the dream”…

Does this sound all too familiar?  Has life somehow pulled a fast one on you after having spent 16 plus years grinding through school, only to find the day to day adult life unfulfilling, monotonous, uneventful, and worst of all sucking the life and energy from your very being!?  I wish I could say that I write those words from the experiences and voices of others who have gone through the grind… But alas, I’ve been there too.  While 95% of my life I have lived idealistically as the dreamer who follows his heart and makes decisions based on intuition, feeling, emotion and with a pure dreamer mentality… I, too, have fallen into the grasp of a “Job” and life that began to tear away at my very heart and soul.  While it’s hard for me to imagine how I got so far deep into the “normal life“, I would never take away the lessons and life experiences I walked away with.  Having ran the gauntlet of the box we all too often find ourselves in, I finally took the plunge into what we all know is the ticket and answer towards truly “living your dream” … I followed my passion.

This passion started in 7th grade as I began hitting the pavement with my new running kicks and slinging the iron in my parents basement.  Instantly I was hooked.  And in all sincerity, I’ve never looked back.  While I try to empathize with those who are “on and off” with working out, I can honestly say that in the past 15 years I’ve always been on.  Asking if I ever take time off out of the gym is like asking if I pass on taking a daily shower or teeth brushing for the day.  It just wouldn’t happen.  I think it would be similar to asking a mother to take time away from loving her child.  It’s that serious.

When it is a part of your heart and soul, the love of your passion will shine through and resonate with unparalleled energy through each and every person in your life.  I challenge you to step outside of the box, reach deep within the depths of the dreamer you once were as you played hopscotch at recess.  What is it that you love?  What truly brings the inner kid to the surface and brings a smile of genuine happiness?  Think about it… It’s in there somewhere.

Now go find your happy place.  Clear your mind and get creative towards making this love and passion an everyday event.  Do away with societal expectations and think outside the box in an truly unrealistic approach to a new every day.  Now ask yourself this; “Am I halfway intelligent?”  If the answer is yes, then set forth on your new journey for I’m 100% positive that if there is a desire to live YOUR dream, you can figure a way towards making that happen.  If the answer is no, welp… sucks to be you.  More dreams to come true for the rest of us :) .  After all, society still needs it’s working ants to keep it all from crumbling down.

If you are half way intelligent, share your dreams below in the comments section.  I’d love to hear your thoughts and visions on YOUR “ideal life” and who knows, maybe I can help you get on that path…

Dream big and Choose to Change.

Live, Love, and Thrive with Purpose…

Wow! What perfect timing for me. I just lost my job and that's is exactly what I was thinking. It seems surrealistic now looking back on the past 17+ years doing something that I was just not suited for. It truly did 'suck the life out of me.' I knew the end was coming and imagined the doom, but what I received was freedom. The stress of that job had become so debilitating, I had allowed it to literally make me physically ill. The moment that it struck me, shaking the hand, losing my job, I felt an explosion inside me.

Now I can see the beauty again. I feel reborn. My future is unknown, but I can feel the positive charge of my life today, at this very moment. Having ground myself into a fine powder of the years, just about anything feels like a glorious life anew. The fear is gone and some great clarity has replaced it. I am humbled and open again.

Thanks for the reminders Pat, and for just doing it.

      Troy,

Wow right back at you. Hearing your new found energy and excitement just sent chills through my body. I am so thankful to hear that your mind has been cleared and you are fortunate enough to have this opportunity for new beginnings. I once read the words from a multi-billionaire that “the first step towards making your dreams come true is to get fired.” It is so easy to get sucked into societal expectations and go “get a job”, while ignoring that our true potential and genuine gifts to give the world are rooted within us at the core of our passions and love of whatever gets us up and excited to be alive. With a little creative edge and thought, it can easily be turned into a day to day living your dream every moment.

Again, I am so excited to hear where the new road and journey takes you Troy. You are one of the most talented men I know and your success will be sure in whatever venture you next take.

      Love you brother.

    Troy,

I too am so excited for you! I know the exact article Pat is talking about and I actually heard that same quote again this week from Bill Rancic. I think your website stuff may have started at a great time and I would definitely like to collaborate with you on ideas and networking. I think you are going to make it BIG and you definitely have the background and the ideas to get you there. Believe in yourself and anything is possible. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason and I think the energy that you already feel is a sure sign that you are on the road to new beginnings and I wish you all the best!

That CHEERS will be celebrated in the near future. I have a meeting on Tuesday to take it to the next level and I anticipate I will launch very shortly after that. :) Again, Great article and it keeps embedding in me that there is LIFE outside the walls of the office. I have found the trail…

See ya somewhere around the world!

I look forward to that day Sheila! Get the business up and let the life celebrations begin … Oh so close at this point, I can almost taste it. I’m thinking New Zealand is a solid place to meet up. Get there!

    Great article Patrick!

Looking back I never thought I would be one of “those guys”. Working hours on end at a job I don’t particularly care for and it’s made me quite the negative person. Honestly, I can’t believe I let things get to this point. After some reading and some soul searching I finally mustered up the courage to put my notice in… it was an idea I’ve been playing with for a while but this time I just felt that I had to go through with it. I was coming up on my two year anniversary and quite honestly I couldn’t bear the fact that I would be cooped up indoors for another summer… including the weekend!
I must say as soon as I sent my resignation letter via email it was one of the best feelings I have had in a long while… it’s amazing what one click of a button can actually do for someone… I literally felt years of tension just melt away instantly.
For the time being I’m not quite sure what I want to do as far as “work” goes… although my free time has given me some clever ideas but what I do know is what I DONT want to do. I plan on taking the rest of the summer off, head to Argentina and learn Spanish.

Thanks for all the support bro… I owe you one.

      Kosta,

Your new outlook and perspective has been incredible for me to witness Kosta… I am more excited for you than you will probably ever know. Seeing you light up and literally witnessing the change come over your being has been amazing. The trip and journey you’re about to embark on will no doubt be one you will remember for the rest of your life. But more than that, your new attitude will forever bring a new presence and direction towards living a life outside of the walls of confinement. Your work ethic and skills will surely create something great and impressive…

I hope to see you across the oceans and I’m grateful to have been even a small part of this new journey. Embrace every moment and be sure to live it up each and every day.

      Cheers Bro!

Hitch, this was a great article. Bitches and I are so proud of your pursuit of the life that will make you happy and fulfilled. Your dedication to the cause of great fitness living is inspirational to many people and the results that your clients experiences speaks for themselves. Live the life, enjoy every day. Take this from a guy who has worked at the same company for 32 years. Good secure job, finally good pay… yet, I should have been a scientist.

      Old man,

It’s never too late … Each day is a gift and each day is an opportunity to make the rest of the days mean that much more. Embrace the opportunity of the rest of life that has been given and grab those lab goggles and white coat. There’s no reason you can’t be a scientist on your own accord :) .

Cheers to the rest of life Old Man!
