I Am About To Walk Across The Country
Yes you read that right. In roughly two weeks time, I will begin to walk across this great nation of ours. Here is the story backing it…
From the very beginning it has been my dream to reach out to the masses, to teach and educate people on the core fundamentals of health and fitness while achieving a real impact. I want to share the greatest of all gifts possible, the gift of health. The gift is that each individual carries a body in which he or she can be proud of each and every day. The gift is finally achieving comfort in one’s own skin.
Unfortunately, two vital components of a fit body are often times left for the genetically gifted or are a direct result of proper/attentive parenting. Both of which are uncontrollable by the many young children who are currently plagued with a variety of diseases as they struggle with severe Obesity. These diseases, in fact, are a direct result of obesity itself. From diabetes, to heart and respiratory problems, early puberty, growth and joint issues and on and on. It has become an epidemic in the United States, which now requires YOUR urgent and undivided attention.
Here are a few statistics just to make it real. In a span of time just a few years more than my age (27), the following holds true:
According to results from the 2007-2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), among pre-school age children 2-5 years of age, obesity increased from 5% to 10.4% between 1976-1980 and 2007-2008 and from 6.5% to 19.6% among 6-11 year olds. Among adolescents aged 12-19, obesity increased from 5% to 18.1% during the same period. (Full article)
The Game Changer
The past few months I have been composing and wrapping up an Ebook about how to achieve six pack Abs. Originally, like any other business venture, the idea was to get great information out to the public while bringing in a profit to support my inflated grocery bill. Like all things in life, the original plan and purpose undoubtedly twists towards directions you can not predict nor imagine possible. The route for this Abs Ebook was no different. It has taken on a whole new purpose, one greater than I ever thought imaginable.
A month or so ago, I was having a chat with my cousin and lifelong best friend, Scott Benken. He had just returned from a mission trip to Honduras where he used his skills developed during his two years of residency in critical care pharmacology to help meet the needs of these less fortunate people. His mission is one in which we are all called to do, yet few actually step up to the plate. Throughout our conversation I fully realized that I have no desire for a new car, new kicks for the gym nor any other worldly possessions that we as humans naturally desire. I long to serve and to create real change in my personal passionate arena…..health and fitness.
That being said, I will be donating 50% of all profits from my Abs Ebook sales. All proceeds will be donated to the KennyDoIt nonprofit to help fight childhood obesity through proper nutrition in our school systems. To raise awareness of this mission to fight childhood obesity, I will be striding forward on a journey I am sure to never forget… I am walking across the entire US of A.
In roughly 2 weeks I will be joined by TOdd Bandiagara in Wrightsville Beach, NC as we begin our journey step by step on foot to Long Beach, CA. TOdd is a Professor of Divine Rhetorical Sciences and will be composing a book to shift all established paradigms during his migration. Along the journey I will also be backed with PR consultant Kristen Nutini as she lines up speaking engagements at schools and churches, and interviews with TV and Radio stations. I will spread the good word of health and fitness and encourage the youth of our country to never forget the importance of chasing after dreams regardless of how impossible they may seem. Our goal is to aid in turning any dream into a reality for thousands of people along every step of this journey.
In an effort to spread rock solid content through the Ebook, while simultaneously supporting a cause that will create real change in thousands of our youth, I ask for your generosity and support for this expedition. This demonstration is living The Word. It will certainly be an adventure for you and the stories, memories, and encounters will truly be endless. But the most important memoir from this excursion will be the impact on the lives of the people you will touch. I can sense the liberation for you already from living out a purposeful existence and what a better way to do so?! Being an example of loving other people more than you love yourself. You are becoming the living Word and I will be filling the night's silence with prayer for this mission, may God bless you and carry you!!

The conversations with you have undoubtedly had a large impact on all this… It has been a steady build up of many variables to this pinnacle of purpose that needs to/must happen.
As you have mentioned brother, there will be many stories and wildness that will go down over the next 9 months or so and that does excite me, there's no denying that. But the driving force to do great things and have a real impact on those needing it most, makes all this life worth anything at all. To give completely and let go of what we have for so long believed important. To simply live and do our part in creating change in others' lives. It's a glorious thing.
I love you brother and I thank you for your support and guiding light throughout the past months. You are truly a beacon of example brother.

Definitely keep in touch Yu! We won’t be heading up to Michigan, but if you find yourself along our route you should definitely walk a few miles with us! As your boy the Buddha says, “Your body is precious. It Is our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care”. We are taking that to the max and seeking that awakening…

Just came across you through your barter ad on craigslist. What an undertaking ! I hope the best for you guys & will pray for you when God brings you to mind. I ‘liked’ your page on FBook, so maybe I’ll be reminded to pray more often for you. I’d love to be able to help you in some way, but any camping equipment was lost a few months ago and I’m unable to help financially due to the fact I’ve been unemployed for a number of years due to mold toxicity. I just wanted to say what an awesome idea this is and I wish you all the best.Not sure what you are looking for, but if I come across any equipment, I’ll let you know.

I can't believe that your actually doing this you crazy SOB, but I can't think of a more rewarding way to get you message out there. This is truely a great cause. I hope you get plenty of support as you embark on this journey. Gimme a shout if you roll through Louisville.
